Using 关于to Express Concerning, Regarding, With Regard to

关于:

Concerning, Regarding, With Regard to

关于 means "about." We will often use this when we want to express things like, "Regarding/About what you said, I think that...", or when we want to say things like, "the book was about dogs".  The examples below will make its usage more clear. 

1）关于 + [NP] ，⋯⋯

As an adverb/adverbial clause, it can only be placed at the beginning of the sentence.

Guānyú nǐ de gōngzuò, rúguǒ nǐ yuànyì, wǒ kěyǐ bāng nǐ zhǎo. 关于你的工作，如果你愿意，我可以帮你找。 Regarding your job, if you'd like, I can help you find (one).

Guānyú qù shànghǎi de shíjiān, wǒmen hái zài kǎolǜ. 关于去上海的时间，我们还在考虑。 About the (length of) time in Shanghai, we are still considering (it).

2）关于 [NP/VP] 的 + Noun

As an attributive modifier, 关于 is placed before the noun phrase (rather than after, as in English),  的 will always come after the description and before the noun.  Basically we make a grammar sandwich. If we're talking about the topic of a movie, it would look like this at a high level:
"about + [the movie's topic] + 的 movie" --> 这是一个关于狗的电影。

Wǒmen yào kǎolǜ guānyú zěnme qù shàng huǎ hé shénme shíhòu qù shànghǎi de shìqíng. 我们要考虑关于怎么去上海和什么时候去上海的事情。 we have to consider things about how and when to go to Shanghai.

Zuótiān shàngwǔ, tā hé tā de péngyǒu shuōle guānyú qù shànghǎi shēnghuó de xiǎngfǎ. 昨天上午，他和他的朋友说了关于去上海生活的想法。 Yesterday morning, he told his friend his idea about his work in Shanghai.
